BLUE DRAGON
Blue dragon ZZ flowerhorn are very similar to RD in terms of appearance. The characteristic which separates the two is the pearling, in particular the color. Blue dragons will appear to have reflective blue pearling commonly referred to as a “blue sheen”. Classic blue dragons were seen to have a larger nuchal hump (kok) when compared to their classic RD counter part.
In modern strains, the popularity of RD has seen the evolution of the genes promoting the growth of larger koks possibly reversing the classic trend.
